Due to the current pandemic, we realize that some of our patients will be unable to visit our urgent care center for medical treatment of non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries. For patients uncomfortable with visiting our urgent care center or unable to visit due to compromised immune systems, AFC Urgent Care Lakewood is offering telemedicine screenings seven days a week, giving you the opportunity to consult with one of our medical providers about any symptoms you may exhibit.
What can be seen during a telemedicine screening?
Many of the non-life-threatening conditions that you would visit our urgent care for may be assessed over a telemedicine visit. Some of the illnesses and injuries we can examine and treat include:
- Upper respiratory symptoms including cold, cough, flu and sore throat
- Mild to moderate seasonal allergy symptoms and reactions
- Insect bites, skin irritation and rashes
- Sinus infections
- Ear infections and swimmers ear
- Eye infections, styes and pinkeye
- Head lice
Certain conditions will require an in-person visit to our center. This includes physical examinations, lab testing including routine blood work and STD detection, wound care and referrals for specialist care.
